A Band Everyone Should Know: Modern
Diet
Modern Diet is the best upcoming indie band you aren’t
listening to yet. A 5-piece band based in New York, Modern Diet consists of
Jake Cheriff (lead vocals/songwriter), Dan Hemerlein (Bass), Noah Hyams
(Drums), Lee Meadvin (guitar) and Bernardo Ochoa (guitar). Current music-major
students at NYU, the members of Modern Diet smoothed a few grooves in venues
such as Webster Hall, Bitter End, Spike Hill, Brooklyn's Muchmores, The Rock
Shop, and a bunch of others around NYC. Their most notable track, “Rip Tide”
from the EP 'Commuter' has received high praise from local fans and was
featured in a student short film. Tracks in both EPs are written by Jake Cheriff,
whose tunes are coated with past and current themes of life we all share: love,
loss, risk and reward. Their new EP, titled 'Chemicals', was released in April 2014
with featured track “1822.” Take a listen. Modern Diet brings life into their
music as soon as the first note bounces an echo. The smooth yet catchy beats
and melodies of their work will melt into your ears and heart, I promise. I‘ve
been there. It’s
mellow, it’s energetic, it’s heartbreaking, it’s uplifting, it’s fiction, it’s
honesty. Modern Diet is a true New York indie band with true New York
sensibility, and your life will be improved by their music.
